Flora/Plants
Eclapon is an old growth hardwood forest whose like can only be found in the New England area of the United States of America. Red spruce, white spruce, sugar maple, yellow birch, american sycamore, american beech, black birch, and balsam firs populate the landscape with their beauty (disregard any inconsistencies with established ecosystems). The forest floor is relatively bare save for the seedlings of the hardwood trees already inhabiting the area. The riverbanks, however, support several types of grasses and unknown species of shrubs. None have ever been found to be poisonous. Recently, a crop of fruiting trees have been planted, including but not limited to pears, apples, guava, oranges, and plums.
Fauna/Animals
There are no animals native to Eclapon. The true diversity of Eclapon is only as diverse as the mantels of resident faerie are. Only those species which are listed as mantels in The Scroll, whether from live or dead faerie, populate Eclapon. Once that faerie has been removed from The Scroll, the animal dies off and disappears.
Religion
Eclapon is the mother. She lives. The wind is her breath and magic is her blood. Skylla is Fate, who holds sway over Eclapon and supremacy over faerie. Her symbol is the Celtic Braid. Every faerie that passes through The Mounds receives a silver braid pendant on a black leather thong. This is your connection to Skylla. All Rituals and prayers must pass through Skylla’s ears before it can take place. Never before has a reasonable request not been granted. Just don't ask for a rocket launcher and expect to get it.
The Altar of Fate
The building that the Altar of Fates reside in is a huge, imposing, four-tower castle which is made completely out of white marble. This castle is complete with its own moat and drawbridge. The drawbridge is forever down; made of solid, see-through glass, and it is obviously more for show than for actual defense. The waters that surround the marble "fortress" are sparkling pristine and, not surprisingly, drinkable. The insides of the castle are divided into floors that are all reserved for dueling save for the top most floor that is home to Skylla.
The Courts
Seelie
The Seelie Court is located in an area nestled along the only river that flows smoothly in the largest valley. The river is an excellent source of water for multiple purposes. Surrounding the throne is a circle of buildings representing the dormitories and shops of the members of the shining throng (a half mile diameter).
The throne was fashioned from a living tree as it grew. It is assumed that a character stands within 200 feet of the throne unless otherwise indicated. The branches, roots, and even trunk fashion a comfortable and impressive seat for the respite of the monarch.
The resident magic of this domain is a pair of white marble statues fashioned into the shape of lions. These have a separate consciousness and obey the orders of the monarch only; whether by voice, thought, or gesture. These statues are immune to magical and physical influences.
Unseelie
The Unseelie Court presents an impressive entrance to the one who would seek it. It is located in the mountains roughly north/northeast of the Seelie Court. The cave floors have been smoothed and tiled seamlessly with green jade. The walls and domed ceilings are covered in quartzite crystal. Various impurities grant a myriad of colors to the colorless mineral. The largest and main cavern is the throne room. All the darkling throng are assumed to be in this cavern unless otherwise indicated. The throne room is lighted by magical miniatures of the sun or moon, in whatever phase it may be, depending on whether it is night or day above ground. There are nearly twelve smaller caverns in the court, these are used as dormitories and places of business.
The throne carve of green jade in the shape of a great dragon and centered in the room. Rose vines and their glorious blooms are carved up each of the dragon’s leg and spill onto the seat. The center is left smooth.
The resident magic of this domain are massive blood red rose vines. They have extremely sharp thorns and settle roots every two feet along each and every wall of the court. They obey the orders of the monarch only; whether by voice, thought, or gesture. They are immune to magical and physical influences.
