Bloodlines
(Note: All faerie (aside from human garlangers) are immortal. There are ways to kill a fae but normal means will not suffice. If a faerie is struct with a mortal wound he/she enters a state of slumber called a "Trance" that lasts for 2 days or 3 posts, whichever comes last.)
Sidhe
Appearance -->These are the true and recognized full-blooded faerie. Sidhe are essentially human in appearance, with no extra or strange body parts and nothing missing, and have slightly pointed earlobes. They do, however, stray from the human norms in color (i.e. true white, blue, true black, pearlized ivory, gold, purple, etc.). Sidhe also glow with a light from within.
Magic -->They possess a natural magic that cannot be manipulated or recognized in any way. This magic makes them infinitely more beautiful and appealing than Nimbus or Garlanger. Sex is a particularly dangerous undertaking for those not of Sidhe blood. They can develop a condition often termed elf-struck if their minds are not protected by the participating Sidhe. They will, for the rest of their lives, seek contact with naked Sidhe flesh or suffer nearly unbearable mental anguish. All Sidhe faerie have at least one Hand of Power and a very lucky few will have two. All Sidhe possess Glamour.
Nimbus
Appearance -->Though nimbus are known for the tainting of blood, many are simply Sidhe who have not yet Come Into Power. They are essentially Sidhe in appearance but do not possess the glowing effect, though they were named for it.
Magic -->They often possess latent magical abilities that may or may not surface at a future date. There has never been seen a nimbus that did not have Glamour magic. Only a select few Nimbus are known to possess a Hand of Power but a Nimbus has never possessed two.
Garlanger
Appearance -->These are the most tainted of fae. They are the children of Nimbus and other things. The faerie blood is like water in their veins, thin and weak. These are proof that the Sidhe blood is not invincible and can be tainted to the extent of horrific deformities. Fantastic colors are not possible any more lest it be the patterns of some animal given by lycanthrope blood. Strength, stamina, and even endurance all suffer the effects of the weakening of the blood. (more below)
Magic -->A Coming Into Power cannot be experienced. No Garlanger has access to Glamour magic.
Garlanger Types
Human - These are mortal and heal at half the rate of even other Garlanger. In battle, those of human blood have been known to briefly and randomly gain the use of a Hand of Power.
Lycanthrope - This faerie is half the animal of their mantel and actually looks like it, animal replacing humanoid counterpart (ie: paws for hands, beak for mouth, fur replacing hair, etc.). They are never considered very pretty. A few will have trouble speaking due to possessing an animal tongue or tusks. These sometimes will prefer to copulate with creatures of their mantel rather than other faerie. It is rumored that they are the product of faerie mating with animals. Faerie often fear lycanthropes for one reason only: they can identify most magic being used within the area just by sniffing the air.
Nightflyer - These have a nest of tentacles sprouting from their abdominal muscles, one from each muscle, that can perform tasks with the direction of the mind. These tentacles can perform tasks as complicated and delicate as the hand can manage. They also sport a set of membrane wings attached at the shoulder blades. These wings may be used to glide but are not functional for flying. They are known for being able to regrow lost body parts if the initial wounding was not too traumatic and other magical forms of healing were not attempted.
Pixie – These fae possess a variety of wings from iridescent insect-like wings to butterfly wings often or even feathered wings. These wings are attached at the shoulder blades and are functional. Simply touching a plant will often heal any damage or disease to the plant. It has also been known for blooms to sprout in the middle of a snow storm in response to the touch of a Pixie Garlanger
Goblin- These fae are products of faerie mating with the extinct goblin race. Consequently, all goblin garlanger are very old or are from a very old blood line. Goblin garlangers range in shapes in sizes; some may be large and hulking while others may be small and frail. Goblins often have extra limbs or eyes that are one solid color throughout the pupil and iris. All goblins are immune to glamour preformed by a nimbus.
Glamour
Slight Illusion -->This glamour is a sort of trick of the eye that can alter your appearance. It is a power of the mind and not the body. Brunettes become blonde, blondes become red-heads, arms can appear to be longer or shorter, noses can be fixed to your liking, etc. You cannot match the appearance of another, not even closely. Only minute details can be accomplished. Slight Glamour cannot be used upon your surroundings. It cannot be used to conceal your presence. It cannot be used to conceal any part of your body.
Facade Illusion -->With this glamour you can assume the identity of another, only those listed on The Scroll, in appearance only. It is a power of the mind and not the body. You can appear to be the little annoying midget running around the court playing jester as long as he/she exists already. You become invisible while the person of your choosing is projected. You cannot speak and expect your voice to match the face you wear. You cannot expect your mannerisms to match unless they are practiced. Not many can assume the behaviors exhibited by another. There is always something not quite right.
Roan Illusion -->With this glamour you can assume the appearance and even mannerisms of the animal species of your choosing, must be present in Eclapon. It is a power of the mind and not the body. You become invisible while the animal of your choice is projected. You cannot speak and expect the sounds to match. You cannot swipe with a tiger’s claws and expect the other to be wounded. You cannot assume the appearance of a bird and expect to fly any higher than the height of your own existing head.
Innate Magic
gifts of the beast
• A fey's mantel is the species that he/she is bonded to. This bond can show in two ways. If one belongs the the Seelie Court then a beast of his/her mantel follows him/her. This beast has above average intelligence of his/her kind and is bonded empathically to the fey. If Unseelie then a tattoo of the beast is somewhere on his/her body. He/she have the ability to turn into his/her mantel.
